Jon Johnson was born in Seattle and lived there until 1967 when his family moved to Covington and then later Kent where he graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in 1974.
Jon has always held a strong belief in community service. At the age of twenty he was appointed by Kent’s Mayor to serve on the city’s Planning Commission. At twenty-one was elected to the Kent City Council, serving for twenty years. Over the years he has served on many local and regional boards and agencies. He has worked in both the private and public sector including PACCAR and King County.
While Jon believes in the importance of community service, serving the Lord is the most important thing in his life. He came to the Lord at the age of twenty and was baptized and confirmed as an adult in the Lutheran faith. Jon has held many different positions at King of Kings and Lutheran Church of the Cross including Congregational President and Elder.
Jon is married to his wife Esther (who graduated from Kentridge, K-M’s rival) and together they have three children and five grandchildren.
