Women at Peace News!
Women at Peace The Women at Peace Ocean Shores weekend was great fun. We went down to the beach, shopped, ate fabulous food (that we didn’t have to cook), played games and ate snacks in the evening, went to the Quilt Show, and hiked the southern beach looking for agates. We stayed at a great hotel near the beach. We are looking forward to doing this again next year, hoping more ladies will join us.
More activities are planned for the rest of the year – all women of Peace are invited. Please join us for breakfast on October 6, bring a breakfast dish to share. It is a great fellowship time, we talk about future events to be involved in, and catch up with each others activities.
On November 3rd we will be going on a bazaar hop, fondly known as the Buffy Bus, recalling a famous activity from the 1970’s when there was an actual lady named Buffy who arranged going to many bazaars in one day on a bus. We meet at church at 8:45 am and carpool to several bazaars having a lot of fun seeing and sometimes buying things other people have crafted. We go out to lunch, returning to church around 3 pm. Eat breakfast before you get to church.
Saturday, November 17 is THE big event – the WAP bazaar, held from 9 am to 3 pm. Many Peace ladies and several other vendors have tables selling their crafts. New vendors are always wonderful, please consider having your own table or contribute a few things to the WAP table where items are sold and the money is saved for our next retreat. Contact Anna Moen if you are interested or have any questions – or come and shop!
December 1st is breakfast again, with Christmas as the theme. Bring a dish to share. That day will also be decorating the church for Christmas, sponsored by the Altar Guild and includes anyone and everyone who would like to help.
A cookie exchange will be held at Anna’s house on 6 pm Friday, December 7th. Bring Christmas cookies, on a plate or in zip locks or however you would like – to share and exchange with others who attend. A general very flexible un-rule is bring about 1/2 dozen cookies for every other lady in attendance, and you will take home at least as many cookies as you brought to share. It is very fun, and there is a light dinner provided. More details will be in the bulletin.
An informal get together happens each 4th Tuesday of the month – we get together at Ristretto’s for coffee and conversation, all ladies are welcome to this too.
