Christian Caregiving—a Way of Life. Facilitated by Chriss Gigliotti will meet in the Event Hall. A 10-12-week study in which participants will be provided the book, Christian Caregiving—a Way of Life: an inspirational guide for Christians who want to improve the quality of the care they give to the people around them—family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, customers, and clients. The Purpose of This Class – Christians sometimes wonder, “What difference can my faith make in my everyday caring and relating?” This class provides an answer. It describes what sets Christian caregiving apart—and explains how this distinctive approach to caregiving can become a way of life for you.
Basics In Christianity – Facilitated by Pastor Bronner in the Fireside Room. What is a Christian? How does someone become a Christian? Why the Lutheran faith? Participants will grow in their understanding of, not only the Christian faith but what it means to be a “Lutheran Christian”. Participants will set the course by the questions they bring to the table for discussion around such topics as: The Trinity, The Ten Commandments, Prayer, The Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, Justification and Sanctification and Forgiveness as well as living out the faith in Christian Community.
Against the Tide – Facilitated by Becky Hines in the Library. The contemporary scene is flooded with all kinds of erroneous ideas of what it means to be a Christian, most taken from the culture around us. For some, the Christian is simply a cleaned-up person trying to do the best he can. Some have crafted a template into which they try to squeeze the Christian. But the Christian does not fit, and the result is a caricature, without any power or authority. So how are we to live a Christian in the midst of a non-Christian culture? Sometimes it calls for us to stand against the tide of public opinion or popular trends. In this study we will learn how to develop a stable walk with God, practical spiritual self-defense, live with a focus and become a prayer warrior. Join us as we learn how to go against the tide and live as a Christian!
