Youth at Peace
In November our youth along with parents, Pastor and a handful of people from our congregation were able to assemble and deliver 100 meals in bags to Vine Maple Place. I want to extend a huge thank you to our congregation for all the generous food donations and to the pre- school for adding a personal touch and decorating each bag. The staff at Vine Maple Place was overwhelmed with gratitude and their pantry was overloaded with food. Well done good and faithful servants!
Since we had so much fun making “tie blankets” last year we decided to do it again on January 7th 5:30-7:30. Even if you are not in youth group but can cut straight and tie knots, we would love to have you come help us, bring your sewing scissors. This year the blankets will benefit families at Vine Maple Place.
One of the youth’s favorite events of the year is upon us. Save the date Starlight Café, February 10th, 2018. We are changing things up this year and are proud to announce our very own Jesse Younkin, who graduated from culinary school this year, has requested the honor to share his talent and cook for his church family. Bring your appetites and show your support for our youth and new chef. As always this promises to be a fun night with delicious food and charming service. See you all there. Donations received from Starlight Cafe will pay for rooms and food for the 15 kids and chaperones going to the Quake Youth Encountering the Gospel Retreat February 16-18, 2018.
